FORTY-HOUR WEEK
The 40-hour week was blamed by one member of the Southland Hugby Union for tho falling off in attendance at Rugby games played in Invcrcargill on Wednesdays. "You will not get the people off with this -10-hour week," lie said. "The employers will not let them off, and you cannot blame them. Even if you start tho game at four o'clock you will not get them there. They are getting enough leisure now."
