MT. ROSKILL IMPROVEMENT An improvement of 8.-11 per cent on last year's figures was shown in a statement of revenue collected for the current year, placed before Inst night's meeting vf the Mount Roskill Road Board. "At the expiry of the days during which the rebate on rates allowed by the board was claimable," stated the report, "the sum of £15,013 has been received, which, with discounts amounting to £778, represents £15,791 paid off the current year's levy of £25,201, being 62.66 per cent. This is an improvement on last year's correct figures, and is satisfactory from the board's point of view, as reflecting the general improvement in economic conditions. Neither of these sets of figures has been paralleled for a number of years. With active efforts to collect rate arrears, as now instituted, the cash revenue figures for the year should be unusually satisfactory."
