FENCE ELECTRIFIED
FATAL SHOCK TO MAN WIRE BROKEN BY STORM BODY FOUND NEXT MORNING [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] CHRISTCHURCH, Monday
The storm that swept the province on Friday evening brought tragedy to the Motukarara district,-for Mr. Hector McLenaghin, a single man, aged 38 years, was found dead beside a fence which had been electrified when a wire from the power line was broken and fell on the fence.
Mr. McLenaghin left his home to visit a neighbour on Friday morning. He stayed with the neighbour all day and left for home at 8.30 p.m., when the storm was at its height. AY hen he did not appear next morning one of his brothers proceeded to make inquiries and at 10 a.m. he found hint lying dead beside the fence, which was quite close to his home. > The power line, broken by the storm, bad fallen on a wire fence about 50 yards from where the body was found.
