CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING
METROPOLITAN GUN CLUB The Metropolitan Gun Club held its fortnightly shoot on its Mangere grounds, there being a good attendance. In spite of the weather some fine scores were registered. The five-target eye-opener was divided by A. Soinerville, R. L. Baxter, L. F. Strain, 11yds, A. E. Robinson, E. Monteith, R. B. Wilson, 12yds, D. Hyauiason, 13yds, and A. J. Hanigan, 17yds, all of whom scored the possible.
The ninth annual competition for the Cucksey Cup, a 21-target match, produced a good field. The possible was secured by R. H. Bartley, 15yds, and A. E. Robinson, 12yds. They shot-off for the cup, Bartley eventually missing at the 10th round, leaving fiobinson the winner. Twenty breaks eacn were secured by 11. G. White, 14yds (holder of the cup last year), L. F. Ramsey, 20yds, E. Monteith, 12yds, L. F. Strain, 11yds, A. J. Hanigan, 17yds, F. J. Hazard, 15yds, and F. H. Seccombe, IGyds. A five-target gimcrack, back 2.vds a break, was won outright by L. F. Strain, 11-lOyds, with the possible, all with first barrels. Four breaks each were secured by L. F. Ramsoy, 17-25 yds, A. Hanigan, 15-21 yds, D. Hyauiason, n-i7yds, A. Sommerville, 11-l9yds, an! E. Monteith. 11-17 yds.
