CHINESE IMMIGRATION Indications that the settlement of tlie thorny question of Chinese immigration into the colonies 50 years ago might not be far distant were given in a letter from London. The following is an extract from the New Zealand Herald of September 6, ISSS: . "An important question was asked in the House of Commons last week in reference to the subject of the Chinese in Australia.
