EXPEDITION TO PUKEKOHE TWO MEN IMPRISONED [FROM OUR OWN COiMIE.SPONDENT] PUKEKOHE. Monday Two masks, a knife, a screwdriver, a torch, a glass cutter, a file, a roll of adhesive tape, and a piece t>f loaded piping, were produced in the Pukekohe Police Court to-day. when Patrick Louis Galley, aged 22, and Dudley Arthur Lampshire, aged 21, both of Auckland, appeared before Mr. W. H. Freeman, S.M., charged with being rogues and vagabonds, and with being found by night in Pukekoho without lawful excuse in the possession of housebreaking instruments. The accused, who pleaded guilty, elected to be dealt with summarily.

" Inquiries made in Auckland showthat these two men had been in the company of undesirable people," said Sergeant O. Tockcr, who prosecuted. About midnight on August 26, the accused were observed by Constable "Webby examining (he doors and locks of busin'ess premises in King Street, Pukekohc. "When questioned, they gave unsatisfactory answers, and he took them to the police station, where they were found to be in possession of the articles produced. The piece of loaded piping was afterward discovered in Lampshire's lodgings. " The accused subsequently admitted that they had come to Pukekohe for the purpose of breaking into business premises," Sergeant Tockcr stated. A sentence of one month's imprisonment was imposed in each case.
