The weather was fine and bright and t iie track was greatly improved, although still solt/.' Salon won the Taranaki Hunt Cup Steeplechase, and the principal Hat race went to .Master Cykion, both being at double figures on tin- straight-out machine. Others y io pay double figures were Windsor Chief and Yiraeious. There was an excellent attendance and tho totalisator handled 116.040, an increase tor the day of L* 1879 10s.
