OBITUARY

MISS AGNES KISSLING The death occurred in Auckland yesterday of Miss Agnes Kissling, aged 61, fourth daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. G. S. Kissling. formerly of St. Stephen's Avenue. Miss Kissling was horn in Auckland and lived prac" tically her whole life in the city. She was well known to a wide circle of friends. For many years she was a keen worker on behalf of St. Mary's Cathedral, and latterly was connected with St. Aidan's Church, Remuera. MR. THOMAS PEACOCK [from our owx correspondent] POKENO, Saturday The death has occurred of Mr. Thomas Peacock, a well-known Pokeno farmer. Mr. Peacock, who was 72 years of age, had farmed in the district for more than 20 years. He was born in London and as a young man spent a number of years on coastal boats in British waters. Mr. Peacock came to New Zealand in 1914. After spending some time in Wellington, lie moved to Pokeno, where he had since lived. He is survived by a son and two daughters. MRS. ALICE SPEEDY [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Sunday The death occurred at Frankton yesterday of Mrs. Alice Speedy, widow of the late Mr. James Hutton Speedy, at the age of S4 years. Mrs. Speedy's parents were among the first to settle at Lower Hutt, while they were also pioneers of Manawatu. Mr. and Mrs. Speedy were farming in the Sanson district, and years ago they took up land at Tuhikaramea, near Hamilton. They retired 30 years ago and came to live in Hamilton. Mr. Speedy died some years ago. Mrs. Speedy is survived by four sons and one daughtef. MRS. JANET WILSON [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON. Saturday The death has occurred at Frankton of Mrs. Janet Wilson, widow of the late Mr. William Wilson, at the age of S6. Mrs. Wilson was born in Glasgow, Scotland, and came to New Zealand about 60 years ago in the sailing vessel Timaru, arriving at Dunedin. Mrs. Wilson, who was married in Glasgow, settled in Otago for a year before going to Sydnev. They returned to New Zealand, however, and settled in the Waikato about oo years ago. Mr. Wilson farmed at Whatawhata for some years, and came to Hamilton shortly before his death 20 years ago. Mrs. Wilson is survived by three sons. There are eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. MR. GEORGE MEAD [from our own CORRESPONDENTj Hamilton. Saturday The death has occurred in Hamilton of Mr. George Mead, at the age of 65 years. Mr. Mead was born in Portsmouth, England, and came to Xew Zealand 28 years ago. He had been a resident of Hamilton for 17 years. Mr. Mead is survived by his widow, one son and one daughter.
