SEIZED FARM LANDS AMERICAN DEMAND REFUSED SUSPENSION OF EXPROPRIATION (Received September 2, 5.5 p.m.) MEXICO CITY. Sept. 1 President Cardenas, addressing the Congress, indicated that Mexico would refuse Mr. Cordell Hull's demand for the suspension of the expropriation of American-owned farm lands, and her answer to the Note of August 25 would be to reiterate her previous arguments.

The President added that an inventory of petroleum companies was being made and they would he paid for the expropriation of their wells from profits from the sale of petroleum. Britain had 110 right to intervene on behalf of the Mexican Eagle Oil Company, which was a Mexican corporation, said President Cardenas. He renewed his offer to discuss with the United States the value of the lands affected, in order to reach an agreement 011 the amount of indemnification.
