NATIONAL PARTY
DANCE AND BRIDGE EVENING JUNIOR BRANCH EFFORT A ball and bridge evening was held in the Henderson Town Hall on Monday bv the local branch of the National Party. The hall was attractively decorated with red, white and blue streamers and ferns.
The guests of honour were the president of the Auckland Junior National League, Mr. R. W. Corson, and Messrs. Maxwell Walker, T. A. Bishop, T. Larnont and J. Knight, who have been nominated as candidates for the Auckland Suburbs electorate.
The committee responsible for the arrangements comprised:—Mrs. Pollock, wearing black lace; Mrs. I. T. Laurie, red marocain; Mrs. A. Bush, black figured marocain; Miss Chillwell, black satin; Miss Bridson, floral taffetas.
Among those present were: —Mrs. R. 0. Gardner, Mrs. T. Lainont, Mrs. Maxwell Walker, Mrs. T. Leighton, Mrs. 1. T. Laurie, Mrs. Hugh Jessop, Mrs. Harry Jessop, Mrs. Ellis, Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. A. Massev, Mrs. A. Chambers, Miss K. Gardner, Miss M. Gardner, Miss J. Scliischka, Miss I. Schischka, Miss A. Jessop, Miss D. Finch, Miss P. Higgison, Miss H. Esticb, Miss Dye, Miss J. Leslie, Miss U. Leslie, Miss Mason, Miss L. Ozich, Miss N. Schraft, Miss J. Foster, Miss F. Boot, Miss M. Ozich, Miss J. Schraft, Miss Z. Smythe. Winners at bridge were: —Mrs. A. Massey and Mr. Hugh Jessop. Consolation prizes were awarded to Miss C. Chill well and Mr. T. Leighton.
