PROLIFIC SCORING

AUCKLAND TEAM'S WIN

[by telegraph—OWN correspondent]

GISBORNE, Tuesday

Miss Gawler scored with almost monotonous regularity for Auckland in the match against Ruahine and secured seven of the eleven goals scored. Afiss Spiers scored two and Afisses Bell and Smith ono each. Auckland had Ruahino on the defensivo practically throughout. Auckland's match against Taranaki tomorrow should decide the second place in tho section, for Eastern seems to be unbeatable. Taranaki possesses more vigorous halfbacks and backs than Auckland, and until the interval to-day gave Eastern a closer game than Auckland did yesterday. Auckland has faster forwards and its chances to-morrow are favoured.
