AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION DATES FOR CHAMPIONSHIPS i The monthly meeting- of delegates to (110 Auckland Lawn Tennis Association was held last eveninpr, the president, Mr. S. Lamb, occupying: the chair. He reported on the annual meetinir of the New Zeiiand Lawn Tennis Association and referred to the wellmerited honour that had been conferred upon Mr. P. Harrison, who had been elected an honorary life-member of the New Zealand Association. Mr. Harrison thanked the delegates for their congratulations and said that he valued very highly the honour which had been conferred upon him. It was decided to apply for January 20 to January .*lO as dates for the Auckland provincial championships. Championship blazers were awarded to Miss J. Ramsay and Mr. IL Clay. Annual reports of the Auckland* Lawn Tennis Umpires' Association, the Franklin Subassociation and the Sincle Courts' Sub-as-sociation were received. Mr. Cleal stated that the Single Courts' Association was doing excellent work and deserved congratulations ( for its efforts. He asked delegates to assist' if possible in gelling unaffiliated clubs to join up. The chairman reported Dial tentative dates for the New Zealand championships in Chrislcburili were January 7 lo I I and that four promising players were lo be sent lo Ausiralia some time in November by the New Zealand Association. The Auckland Association had been asked lo nominate players. After discussion 011 inter-club matters it was decided to run an A grade open competition and also first and other grade grass and bard court competitions separately. 011 Mr. deal's motion it was decided to inaugurate a champion of champions' competition for both Indies and men restricted to members participating in Ibe inter-club hard court competition, each club having the right to nominate one player in each contest. II was agreed to commence the hard-court inter-club competitions on October 15. entries closing on September 20.
