DRUNK IN DINGHY
HARBOUR INCIDENT MAN ARRESTED ON BEACH A middle-aged man's fishing expedition in the Waitemata Harbour on Monday afternoon had a sequel that was described in the Police Court, yesterday, when evidence was given on a charge of drunkenness. Accused, who was stated to be a first offender, did not appear in answer to the charge. Constable Bawden said information was received at tho Queen's Wharf police station late on Monday afternoon that a man was drunk in a dinghy midway between Watchman Island and Birkenhead. Witness and another constable rowed out and found that the man had lost both his oars and his anchor overboard. They towed his dinghy back to Sentinel Road Beach, where he was arrested for drunkenness. Accused was fined £l, the amount of his bail.
