SURVEYING AWARD

THE FULTON MEDALLION SUCCESS OF AUCJCLANDER The presentation to Mr. E. V. Blake, of Auckland, of the Fulton Bequest Medallion for the best paper prepared during the year on a subject connected with surveying was made by the president, Mr. C. Iv. Grierson, at the 50th

annual conference of the New Zealand Institute of Surveyors, which opened in Auckland yesterday. This was the first award of the medallion, which commemorates the late Mr. J. E. 1' niton, of Wellington, an early member of the institute and the engineer responsible for the construction of the Manawatu railway.
