EMPLOYERS' CO-OPERATION
[bt telegrafh—OWN correspondent] WELLINGTON. Tuesday The question of defence was discussed at the annual meeting of tlic New Zealand Timber Merchants' Federation at Wellington. Reference was made to tho action of the Government in increasing wages for territorials, and members agreed that the co-operation of all employers should be given the Government in this matter.
A motion was passed recommending all employers to co-operato as far as possible in endeavouring to give workers leave for parades and camps, and by doing everything possible to encourage young men to enlist for service in the military forces, and to foster public interost in this problem.
