LONDON GARDENER'S FEAT (Received August 20, G. 30 p.m.) LONDON, August 29 A Battereea Park gardener. Mr. Ferniey Wheatcroft? aged 42, swam the Channel from Cape Gris Noz, and reached the English coast between Dover and Folkestone in ]!5 hours .'{7 minutes. He learned to swim iff l'J.'U. Air. Wheatcroft abandoned an attempt to swim the Channel last Julv.
