NORTHERN WAIROA EFFORT LABOUR PARTY BRANCHES [by telegraph—own correspoxdext] DARGAVILLE, Monday The queen carnival conducted throughout Northern Wairoa by branches of the New Zealand Labour Party was won by the Farmers' Queen, Miss E. Downey, with 20,640 votes. She was followed by the Industrial Queen, Miss W. Dean, who polled 17,430 votes. The third place was gained by the Labour Queen, Miss T. Hogan, with 16,635 votes. The Maori Queen, Miss H. Weir, was fourth. Although tho carnival received several setbacks with unfavourable weather, the sum raised was considered satisfactory.
