Australian butter also has risen by I 3 to 117s per cwt., while Danish continues to move up rapidly, and current quotations range from 135s to 136s per cwt., a gain of 6s on the week. In uusalted butters, New Zealand is selling at 122s per cwt., and Australian at 118s. The cheese market is firm as the result of a shortage of supplies. Further advances have occurred, and New Zealand is Is higher at 72s 6d per cwt. for both whito and coloured. Australian white is bringing 68s 6d per cwt., and coloured 70s 6d. K.D.V. BOXES, LIMITED SLIGHT FALL IN PROFIT DIVIDEND OF 2\ PER CENT A slight decline in net profit from £591)9 in the previous year to £5200 in the year ended June 30 is shown in the accounts of K.D.V. Boxes, Limited. A dividend of per cent is recommended, which is the first distribution since 8 per cent was paid in 1935. The directors' report states that the company's affairs are in a very stable condition. Early in the season some trouble was experienced with timber supplies, but this has been overcome, and for the first time in its history, the company has commenced a new season with adequate stocks of dry white pine. The mill at Wauganui, South Westland. was sold, together with cutting rights, at a satisfactory figure, and all the white pine there is being drawn on. The holding at Kohukohu has been cleaned up, and the Otangaroa mill closed and the-assets liquidated. This ends the operations of the company as sawmillers.

Sales of butter boxes were increased by £8704, which was largely due to the higher price of the box. Overhead and general expenses were reduced. Overdraft is £2550 higher, but timber stocks have increased by £18,667 and the former is covered by stocks of timber and wire alone. Orders for the new season are satisfactory and the outlook is good. Tho retiring directors, Messrs. J. B. Macfarlane and G. L. Laird, are available for re-election.

The debit balance in the appropriation account has been reduced by £1093 to £2109. Creditors are £4277 lower at £2287. Timber rights have fallen from £18,391 to £8435, while debtors are £444 higher at £5143. Total assets at £106,730 show an increase of £337.
