THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE an irregular trend There was still no definite trend in the investment market ou the Auckland Stock Exchango yesterday. Operators again seemed hesitant to make commitments, and although there were several isolated gains, the general tendency was slightly weaker than that of the previous day. Marked activity developed in giltedged securities at tho close, and Government loans changed hands freely. Loral body debentures also wore sought. Practically tho only movement in banks was a strong ndvaneo in Nationals of New Zealand. Levels for New Zealands were a. shade easier. Insurances were fairly steady, and Now Zealands sold twico unchanged. Industrials were quieter, although more 'interest was taken in breweries. A feature of dealing was n drop in Colonial Sugars, following tho recent weaker tendency. Other Australian issues were quiet, and E'ictrolytic Zincs, preference, lost somo ground. New Auckland Laundry aLu sold cheaper. Moturoa Oils were marked down, but a rise in offers for Taranakis lifted levels by up to Is Id. CLOSING QUOTATIONS
