MOTORIST'S ADDRESS

UNUSUAL PROSECUTION DISMISSAL OF CHARGE "I cannot hold defendant guilty of supplying false information on the evidence submitted," said Mr. W. R* McKean, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court yesterday when Michael O'Sulhvan (Mr. Drummond) appeared on 8 charge of supplying false information to a traffic officer. Defendant pleaded not guilty. Evidence was given that defendant was accosted by a traffic officer on March 13 and asked for his driving licence, which he produced. His address given on the licence was not that at which he had lived for two years, and it was submitted that he should have told tho traffic officer of the position. "If an inspector asks a motorist for his licence tho driver may forget al about tho fact that he has changed his address," said the magistrate, when dismissing the case. "Ho is certainly no making a false statement because his present address is not the one shown on his licence."
