JAPAN TO WORLD EDUCATING THE PEOPLE Times Cable LONDON, August 22 Suggestions in Japanese newspapers that it would be unwise to antagonise foreign countries, especially Britain, during the critical stage of the Chinese campaign, can be regarded as preliminaries to a Government campaign to educate the Japanese to show a more friendly attitude to 4 the outside world, says the Tokio correspondent of the Times. In view of the violent tendencies which young Nationalists have displayed, the police guard has been strengthened at the residences of General Ugaki, Foreign Minister, and others who, it is believed, desire accommodation from Britain.

STRONG ATTACK JAPANESE IN CHINA LONDON, August Q2 Tho Japanese launched an offensive on a 40-mile front between the Yangtse Kiver and Poyang, iu an effort to break the Chinese line obstructing the attack on Hankow, says a message from that city. The Japanese captured positions on both flanks.
