BALL AT HUNTLY
EX-SOLDIERS' GATHERING > A plain and fancy dress ball was hold Inst week by tho Huntly Returned Soldiers' Association. The function was very well attended and was a great success. Music was played by tho Ist Battalion Auckland llegiment Band. For those who did not danco cards had been arranged. Prizes for .the best fancy dress costumes were awarded as follows: Best fancy costumes, Mr. and Mrs. N. Hod ley (pearly costers); best comic costumes, Mrs. J. Shaw (Popeye) and Mr. J. Shaw (Popeye's wife, Olive Ovl); best original costume, Miss Betty Joyce (Topsv), and Mr. W. Baldwin (Arabian Prince); best couple, Mrs, W. H. Harris (Maori), and Mr. W. H. Harris (Chinese). The winners at cards were: Euchre. Mrs. T. Russell, Mrs. W. D. Partis. Mrs. G. Sandilands and Mr. R. Landon. Travelling prizes were awarded to Mr*. Turton and Mr. S. Russell.
