FALLING BIRTH-RATE
FIVE MILLION CLUB REPORT ENDOWMENT OF MOTHERHOOD [BY XKLKGHAFH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] WELLINGTON. Tuesday Another aspect of the population problem in New Zealand will be dealt with in a report to be issued shortly by the birth-rate committee of the Five Million Club. The Hon. \V. I''.. Barnard, president of the club, stated in an interview that a draft copy of the report would be considered by the executive in a fortnight's time. "The report will deal with the declining birth-rate in New Zealand," said Air. .Barnard, "and will cover such aspects of the problem as the practice of abortion and the use of contraceptives, as well as thfe problems ot motherhood endowment and domestic health."
