COMBINED DANCE

TWO GRAMMAR SCHOOLS UNQUALIFIED SUCCESS MANY BEAUTIFUL FROCKS The gay dresses of the dancers, attractive decorations, and a spirit of camaraderie helped toward tho unqualified success of the ball held in tho Cabaret Metropole last night and organised by the joint committee of tho Epsom Girls' Grammar Old Girls' Association and the Mount Albert Grammar School Old Boys' Association. Festoons of royal blue and gold, the colours of the girls' school, lined the ballroom, and wero caught with streamers of the lighter blue and gold of the boys' school. Interspersed between the streamers were figures of tho gold lion rampant, the emblem of both schools. Larger copies of these lions guarded the band platform, and replicas of the shields of the different schools were set above the representative cubicles. Executive Officers The guests were received by Mr. R. C. Aickin, the president of the Mount Albeit Grammar Old Boys' Association, and Miss Margot Grant, tho president of the Epsom Girls' Grammar Old Girls' Association, who wore a frock of black ruehed taffetas with a gold tinsel thread. Among the executive officers of the Old Girls'- Association were the vicepatron, Miss A. L. Loudon, who wore white floral satin; tho vice-presidents, Mrs. S. R. English, in black lacquered taffetas, and Miss B. M. Bell, who wore gold satin; the treasurer, Miss Betty Instill, in black panne velvet; and the following committee members: Miss G. McFlynn, who wore black flowered moire silk; Miss M. Savin, white chiffon; Miss J. McKean, white taffetas. Also present were: —Mrs. V. C. Butler and Mrs. D. Sumner, whose husbands were vice-presidents of the Old Boys' Association. Mrs. Butler wore a frock of silver and old rose satin, and "Mrs. Sumner was in scarlet lace. Mrs. M.
