AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP The Auckland provincial amateur billiard* championship for tho Billiards, 'Limited Shield was continued last evening at tha showrooms of Messrs. Billiards, Limited. R. Carrick, tho titlo-holder, proved too consistent for H. liae, whom he defeated rather : i comfortably. The champion quickly found touch, and at his third visit to the table compiled an all-"" 1 " round broak of 3G. A further effort of 47" soon followed and at the first hundred mark -'; Carrick had a lead of 40 points. Rao scored '' consistently without making any breaks of ~ note and made up some of tho leeway. Carrick, who was consistent without being brilliant, added four breaks of over twenty, Rao replying with two small runs. Carrick dominated the play over tho final stages. Tha final scores were:—lt.
