ITALIAN HONOUR
SAN FRANCISCO DOCTOR A very unusual honour has been conferred by Mussolini on Dr. J. C. Geiger, director of the Department of Public Health for the county and city of San Francisco, who was a through passenger, returning to America, by the
Mariposa yesterday. While visiting Canberra recently, Dr. Geiger was advised by cable that ho had been granted the order of the Crown of Italy. Dr. Geiger said he had been pleased to accept the honour, although ho was unaware of the reason for it. He was of the opinion that it was for advice he gave on public health problems and general medical service during the Ethiopian war.
