EMBARGO STANDS
DOMINION POTATOES AUSTRALIA'S DECISION "PROTECTION OF-PRODUCERS* (Received August 10, 10.27 p.m.) CANBERRA, August 19 The Prime Minister, Mr. J. A. Lyons, announced to-night thiit the embargo under which New Zealand potatoes are refused entry into Australia will be continued. However, sales may take place to oversea ships in Australian waters and no objection will be offered to importations entered with the Customs Department for transhipment to Pacific Islands. "Under all circumstances, said Mr. Lyons, the Cabinet considered there, was justification for the reservation of the domestic market for Australian producers.
