YOUNG MEN'S ACTIVITIES ;.v A year of gratifying progress is reported by the Auckland Chinese Young Men's Club, which was founded in 1931 bv the Rev. Y. S. Chau, Mr. C. C..- ;r Clien and a few others. For the past j* three years its membership" and social"" activities have steadily_ increased until it now has a membership of 62 in both - (i city and country. Recently the club ... fI has purchased Salvation Bonds to the '- r cxtcnt of 1000 dollars, or about £BO, " to help to support China in her present crisis, and as all the members are young people the contribution is a. most generous one. - Since 1935 the president of the club has been Mr. Henry Ah Kew. It holds weekly meetings in the Mawson-j Memorial Hall in Cook Street, where social evenings are spent in games and . reading and visiting speakers.
