FIFTY YEARS AGO
DISASTER AT SEA A disaster at sea off the const of Nova Scotia 50 years ago caused grea loss of life. The following is an extract from the New Zealand Herald ot August 20, 18S8: — . "The steamers Thimvalla and Geisex came into collision off Sable Islan , • miles south-east of Nova Scotia, . the night. The Geiser sustained ? eno«s damage and sank within a few. 72 of the passengers and 01 crew going down with the vesse .
