New Universal has bought Deanna Durbin a story called "First Love." Paulette Goddard is going into a summer stock theatre to play the lead in "French Without Tears." Irene Dunne will mako a picture for Paramount, under Wesley Ruggles' direction, at the end of the year. Lubitsch has arranged to direct one picture for Metro-Goldwyh-Mayer. It may be "The Women," starring Norma Shearer. Max Reinhardt has opened his school of noting at the old KNX studios in Hollywood. Constance Collier and Edward G. Robinson are among the instructors. Kenny Baker will definitely play Nnnki-Poo in "The Mikado," with Jean Colin as Yum-Yum. Others in the ca3t are Martyn Green, Elizabeth Paynter, John .Barclay, Constance Willis, Gregory Stroud and Sydney Granville*
