HUNGER STRIKE
CHINESE BATTALION SHANGHAI, August 14 The members of the famous Chinese "Doomed Battalion," who have been interned in the International Settlement since October, have begun a hunger strike to enforce their demand to rejoin the army. Earlier this month the battalion rioted. The rising was suppressed by Russian volunteers after a two-hour struggle.
