PROGENY OF ADIOO GUY RED PIGEON, SILVER GUY Tho Southland sire, Adioo Guy, was represented at Addington by the pacera Red Pigeon and Silver Guy, both of whom were placed at every start. Red Pigeon, who is from Wild Pigeon, recorded a first and second, going '4.21 2-5 off 4.34 for second in the Islington Handicap, won by Silver Guy in 4.34 off 4.37. Silver Guy is from Jenny Bell 11. and was second and third in two other starts. Adioo . Guy also sired Grand Mogul. WRACK TROTTERS PEGGOTTY ADDS TO RECORD Tho two successes of Pcggottv at Addington, following her record of eight wins in nine starts last season, place her with the best trotters produced by .Wrack, and she has won in her short racing career over £2OOO, a wonderful return for the original outlay of £4. Like many other good trotters by Wrack, sho was first tried at tho pacing gait, but failed, and tho change to the trotting gait has been followed with phenomenal results. Peggotty will have an opportunity in November to add the Dominion Trotting Handicap to her list. Sea Gift, also by Wrack, and holder of the trotting record, 4.21 1-5, won tho event in 1935, while Wrackler, the greatest double-gaited horse produced in New Zealand, won in 1932, having two years earlier won tho New Zealand Cup as a pacer. Nieoya, another Wrack trotter, who was purchased for £6, reached a high standard, and in 1934 won at Addington in 3.14 3-5 off a 3.23 mark.

TURF JOTTINGS TRACK AND STABLE NEWS Tho steeplechase course over the hill will bo open at Ellerslio this morning, when several of the Pakuranga Hunt candidates are expected to school. Unless the going is favourable on Saturday Shy will not bo a starter in the Jeliicoo Handicap. Although the Valkyrian gelding has not been asked to do n. great deal of strenuous work lately, he bears a solid appearance and may show an early return to foiin when tho tracks become firmer. A much-improved hack at Ellerslie is tho Lackham—Musket Vein gelding, Itingshot, who now bears a much more solid appearance than formerly. V*. Kirk has not been taxing this gelding, who, although he has not been asked to imtke time, has moved. attractively in recent short sprints. A hack that is showing much improvement at Ellerslio is Captain Bruce, who has been responsible for several pleasing sprints during the last couple of weeks. Captain ]3ruco, who is engaged in the Auckland Handicap on Saturday, scored his only success Inst season in the Sylvia Park Handicap at tho Pakuriinga Hunt meeting 12 months ago. Tho three-year-old Philcourt will attract attention if produced in tho Admiralty Handicap at the Pakuranga Hunt, meeting next Saturday; as he has furnished into a very handsome type. A bold galloper, Philcourt is progressing nicely in his preparation and is expected to turn out a good sprinter this season. El Moynoll has been hitting out in dashing stylo in his recent work, which mainly has .consisted of strong pacing, with a short sprint to the finish. Ho may always be soon at his best when tho going is on tho easy sido and will have an opportunity of losing his hack status at'the Pakuranpa Hunt meeting, where he is engaged in the Auckland Handicap, one n}ile.
