PATRONAL FESTIVAL
A special service was held at Rangataua, Ohakune, by the vicar, the Rev. M. L. Underhill, in ■ connection with the ' p'atronal festival of St. James. The Rev. J. C. Abbott, of Taihape, gave an address upon the' foundation of i St. James' Church at- RangatauaJ Representatives from St. Mary's and St. John's vestries, and a boys' choir from Raetihi, were present. During the service an anthem was sung by' Mesdames W. Taylor and Uzzell. The organists for the service were Mr.' Ogden and Mrs. Frazer. At the conclusion of the service the visitors were entertained by the members of St. James at a social evening. Games were organised by Mr. Underhill, and songs were sung by Miss Oris Snowball. Mrs.. Mills and Mr. J. Flyger. A novelty tap dance by Miss Joan Rush and a recitation by Olga Francis were all much appreciated. Supper was served by the ladies, after which followed community singing led by Mr. Flyger.
