ENGAGED TO WED
DEAN OF ' CANTERBURY FIANCEE AN ARTIST LONDON, August 0 The Dean of Canterbury, Dr. Hewlett Johnson, aged 64, whose first wife was described as the finest looking woman in Manchester, and died in 1931, has become engaged to Miss Mary Edwards, aged 31, an artist who has exhibited at the Royal Academy. The wedding will take place in the autumn.
Miss Edwards, who has long been connected with the deanery, where she has acted as hostess, is accompanying the dean to Spain with the Food Ship Committee, which cares for orphaned children in Barcelona.
