fl-HE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE GENERAL firmer trend Conditions were comparatively dull ron the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday. Turnover again was restricted to a small number of issues. Although tho general trend of dealing was stronger, share price movements were •only small. Among banks. Commercials of Australia confirmed the recent improvement by a transfer at an advance. New 'Zealand*. 011 the other hand, were a shade easier, but Unions of Australia remained steady. Oilers for leading insurances were raised, but holders remained strong. West port - Stockton Coals eased slightly after the advance of the previous day. The recovery movement in Dominion Breweries was continued. Movements in metals were irregular. While Broken Hills maintained the upward trend, .Electrolytic Zincs were marked down. Values for (!. J. Coles moved to higher levels in a transaction. Quotations for Dunlop-Per-driaus developed marked weakness at the close. After a transfer of Sharlands, preference, at a gain of Is -'ld since the last sale over two months ago, quotations were witlnl; anil.
