LEAGUE OF MOTHERS
Parnell. —The Parnell branch of the League of Mothers met in the Knox Hall recently. Lady Mackenzie presided. " Miss Chapman, from the Plunket headquarters gave ,an address on "Mothereraft." The lecture was most interesting and instructive and showed clearly the progress made in the proper understanding of the needs of children. Remuera, No. 2.—The monthly meeting of the Remuera No. 2 branch of the League of .Mothers was held recently, when officers for the coming year were elected as follows:—President, Mrs. W. R. Cash more; secretary, Mrs. E. Colson; treasurer, Mrs. C. H. Furness. Mr. Reed, physical instructor •at the Training College, gave an address on the physique of the child. Tea hostesses were Mesdames Hill, Mushet and Bloin field. Grey Lynn.—A meeting of the Grey Lynn branch ol' the League of Mothers was held recently. Mrs. Hynes presided. Among the guests was Mrs. Burnett, the president of the Tokanui branch. The speaker for the afternoon was Mr. R. C. Baeyertz, who gave an address on world peace. Afternoon tea was served by Mrs. Heath, Mrs. Hannah and Mrs. McLean. The 10th annual meeting of the Remuera No. 3 branch of the league wiis held in the North Memorial Baptifst school room recently. In the absence of the president, Mrs. P. D. Wright, the vice-president, Mrs. McPhi?e, presided. Songs were rend.'red by Mis. Bennett and Mrs. Moifatt, and the thought for the month was read by Mrs. HntchiSison. The retiring president. Mrs. P. D. Wright, was reelected.
