RUGBY LEAGUE DANCE
TEAM WELCOMED HOME many guests present FUNCTION AT PETER PAN To welcome home the members of the New Zealand Rugby League team which recently returned from a tour of Australia, a dance was held at the Peter Pan Cabaret lafit night" by tho ladies' social committee of the Auckland Rugby League. The guests were received by Mrs, A. Scott, tho secretary of the ladies social committee, who wore a frock of black taffetas, with large lapels in petunia and old rose. During the evening Mr. J. W. Probert, a member of tho board of control, gave a short speech, in which he expressed the appreciation of tho league for the sound play of tho team during tho tour. He said that the standard had been far superior to that of any previous tour. Members of tho ladies' committee present were: —Mrs, R. Doble, who wore black and ecru Ch&ntilly lace; Mrs. C. Howe, mulberry cloque; Mrs. I, Stonex, lacquer red ninon. Variety in Crocking The guests included: —Mrs. W. R. Dick, who wore black embossed cloque; Mrs. J. W. Probert, saxe blue taffetas; Mrs. W. A. Taylor, Mexican dahlia taffetas; Mrs. Stanley Barker, pink ninon;. Mrs. S. Hillson, black satin with silver lame coatee; Mrs. N. McGonegal, red ring velvet; Mrs. 0. Carlaw, laquer red satin; Mrs. R. Smith, black crushed velvet; Mrs. J. Smith, navy georgette with taffetas hem; Mrs. E. Holebrook, black flat crepe finished with beading; Mrs. W. F.
