The Romeo gelding looks in capital order and is hitting out very freely in his work. Kilonsa (McCurdy) and Land Girl (McTavish) ran the last five of six furlongs in 1.6 3-5. Both did it well and they should be in fine trim for their Pakuranga Hunt engagements. Knight of Australia (Clarke) and Wee Pat (Fearn) were companions over seven furlongs, registering 52 2-5s for the last four, .Knight of Australia doing the better. High Star (McTavish) strode over five furlongs, averaging 15s to the furlong. Annacourt (August) completed the last halfmile of strong work in 555. She finished well over the last bit and is thriving on her preparation. Brother to Martara Mundane (Jones) moved freely while running three furlongs in 40 l-ss, time on which she could have improved. Aero Queen (Geinmell) got to the end of six furlongs in 1.21. She was being kept up to her work in the straight. Fidelia (Mclnallv) and Gamos (Markwick) ran an easy three furlongs in 44 4-ss. The two-year-old Dark Legion (Gilchrist) jumped away at the six-furlong peg and ran to the four in 26 3-ss. The colt, who was not required to do his best, moved very attractively. Electric Spear (Fearn) covered six furlongs comfortably in 1.24 4-5. Crooning (Walker) and Valdeno (Fearn) pleased by the manner in which they sprinted half a milo in 525. They look particularly well and had a little in hand at the finish. Palmint (Vaughan) took 45s for an easy three furlongs. After running the first furlong in 14s Captain Bruce (Murray) completed four in 54 l-os. The Captain Bunsby gelding did his work in good style and he is bearing a much-improved appearance. A fast half-mile was credited to Philcourt (Jones), who was always clear of Gloucester (Vaughan) while running the distance in 50s, the first furlong in 12 2-ss.
