NEW STOCK ROUTES
APPROACHES TO HAMILTON: [from our ows correspondent] HAMILTON, Tuesday Hamilton stock routes were discussed by Mr. G. G. Winter, overseer to the Waikato County Council, in in 3 . monthly report to the council to-day. ' Mr. "Winter said' that numerous mobs of cattle were frequently on the move 011 the Morrinsville-Hamilton main highway and were a menace to users of the road, both pedestrian and vehicular. The drovers would welcome a quieter route along which they could conduct their stock to tlje saleyards or freezing works.. - ... •' " Mr. Winter suggested that all stock' ! should be diverted from the Morrinsville highway to the Kuakura, station road at Newstead, while all Matangi stock could use the Silverdale road and the Cambridge stock the Hillcrest road. They could then connect with the borough stock route. The course suggested would make the highways sater for traffic and would protect the borough footpaths from damage. The council decided to- take steps-to declare new stock routes in accordance with the overseer's report. . .—. .. . ■
