MORE COVERED SPACE BUILDING PLANS APPROVED [from cur own correspondent] PUKEKOHE, Monday In order to provide additional closed space for show animals, the executive of the Franklin Agricultural and Pastoral Society decided at a special meeting to convert one of the existing buildings at the Pukekohe showgrounds into u pig pavilion. The president, Mr. W. J. I). Sharp, said that the alterations would effect a big improvement to the pig section. Mr. Sharp reported that a tender of £2OO had been accepted for the erection of a roofing for further cattle pens. The Minister of Labour, the Hon. H. T. f Armstrong, notified the societs T that unskilled labour from the registered unemployed would be made available for work on the showgrounds. A letter from the Whangarei Agricultural and Pastoral Society, requesting the Franklin society to conduct the South Auckland section of the National Bacon Pig Championship competition, was referred to the pig-section committee, with power to act. .
