THE GENERAL ELECTION AUCKLAND ROLLS INCREASE 27,600 ADDITIONAL NAMES SUPPLEMENTARY LISTS TO COME An increase of 27,031 in the number of voters registered is shown on the main Parliamentary rolls of nine Auckland constituencies for the present year when compared with the figures for 1935. This year the total is 119,607, whereas three years ago it was 91,976. The 1935 total was - considerably below the corresponding figure for 1931 owing to extensive purging of rolls carried out prior to the last election. Waitemata .. 12,313 11,552 12,101) Tho main rolls for all these electorates have now been compiled, and a start has been made on tho assembling of the various supplementary rolls. Since the main rolls closed on Juno 30 an averago of about 400 new enrolments have been made in each electorate, although in each case this figure includes many transfers from other electoral rolls, which will be correspondingly reduced in numbers. Large numbers of applications for enrolment on the supplementary rolls continue to bo received daily at tho office of the registrar of electors in Auckland.
