OBITUARY
MR. EDWARD GUERITZ FORMER GOVERNORSHIPS (Received Autrust. 5, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, August 4 The death has occurred of Mr. Edward Gueritz. Edward Peregrine Gueritz was born in March, 1855, a son of the liev. M. Gueritz. He was educated privately and at St. Andrew's School, Stoke Newington. Ho served in tho Sarawak Civil Service, 1875-77 and was on the staff of the Bank of New Zealand, 1877-SO Going to North Borneo he was assistant Resident there, 1882-84. • Mr. Gueritz was Collector and .Magistrate in the Malay States, 1885-90; Resident of Labium and in North Borneo, and Sessions Judge and Judicial Commissioner, 1891-1903; Governor and Commander-in-Chief, Labuan, 1903-6, and North Borneo, 1903-12.
