DEATHS NOW TOTAL 39 FOG IN PHILADELPHIA LIGHTS ON IN FORENOON s (Received August r>, 9.5 p.m.) XEW YORK. August 4 The heat wave in the United States continues and the deaths now total 39. Lights had to be turned on in Philadelphia at 10.30 a.m. as traffic was delayed by a dense fog caused by an accumulation of stagnant air over the city pushing down smoke and dust.
