STOCKS AND SHARES
THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE METAL VALUES DECLINE The investment market on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday was dull and without marked movement. With the exception of a further casing in metals pric;e changes were negligible, and u more cautious note was ro- ' Jlected in a smaller turnover. One issue of Government loans moved up a shade, but the remainder weru quiet. Little interest was .shown in banks, where business was confined to New Zealands at tho current level. Leading insurances were firmly steady. Metals provided the feature among the industrials. Broken Hill Proprietary continued to lose ground on sale, ..while Electrolytic Zincs, preference, were marked down ]s Od. DunlopPerdriaus moved up strongly. Business passed 2d higher at '22 sod, while buyers offered more at the close. G. J. Coles sold ex dividend for the first time. Among the Dominion issues Gear • Meats were dealt in twice at a decline. Levels for Consolidated Bricks . acre lifted slightly.
