MORE ABOUT TAVI
Dear anxiS shirley,—t thought you might like to hear about what our cat, Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, did the other night. (I expect members are getting a bit tired of Tavi!) When I got home from work —it was one of those nasty wet nights—l called 1 avi to come foi his dinner, and Auntie called him, too, but no answering "meow" did we hear. Several times after that wo called him but lie did not appear. After dinner we went into the living room, in the front of the house, after turning out the kitchen light. A little while later there was a bump and_ a 1 thud on the floor of the verandah, which : is half closed in. 1 Presently we heard "mew-ow-ow : outside the'glass door, which leads on to I the verandah. I "It must be that- old rascal of a . Tavi," Auntie said, getting up and ! opening the door. ; A perfect chorus of pitiful mews . arose from the wet, draggled mass that : was Tavi. He had such a tale to tell, about how he sat and sat at the back [ door and no one came. So, -feeling very

hungry, he decided he'd have to find those humans. Wandering round the .house he presently stopped. Yes. there was the sun shining out from the house, and wherever the sun was, j'ou would find those humans. Bounding over the railing of the , verandah he "rang the bell" by mewing at the door. Auntie picked him up and carried him through to the kitchen, while he continued- his sad tale, explaining all about how he got wet. Why couldn't they leave the sun on all night instead of turning it off? However, after a hearty meal of meat and a drink of milk his good temper was restored. I wonder if Grey Malcolm ever does things like that ?—With best wishes, i your sincere member. Patricia Millier, M.B G. (18), Mount Eden. v
