Tales About Stamps
The stamp-collector of all ages must hatle often wished he could put his hand on a volume to tell him quickly the Story behind many of his stamps. This httd has been filled by "Stamps with a Story," by G. J. Matson, who has produced a book containing a wealth of interesting information on the subject. Stamps have been printed to commemorate wars, assassinations and prominent people, while others denote the progress of art and music and others again illustrate classical history. Behind many of these stamps is a story of outstanding interest and it is Such as these that Mr. Matson has incorporated in his book. A complete chapter is detioled to New Zealand stamps, many of which picture the' life of Maori tribes, typical members of those tribes, their homes and their' crafts. No other hobby enjoys so wide and varied a patronage as stamp-collecting and much of the historical interest of individual specimens is brought to light in this volume. "Stamps with a Story," by G. J. Matson. (Blackie.) .
