ROTARY CONVENTION
GROWING MOVEMENT AUSTRALIAN DELEGATES Some prominent Australian members of Rotary were through passengers by the Mariposa yesterday, returning from the Rotary International Convention in San Francisco. Among them were Mr. A. S. Mitchell, of Melbourne, a past director of Rotary International; Mr. W. K. McLuckie, of Sydney; Mr. S. McGibbon, of Melbourne; and Mr. W. Fox Martin, of Orange, New South Wales. Messrs. Mitchell, McLuckie and Martin are district Rotary governors in Australia.
According to Mr.. Mitchell, the convention revealed that the influence of Rotary was gradually extending. The net result over the last year was the greatest increase in tho number of clubs yet recorded, and the convention was the second largest over held. It was attended by 11,000 delegates and official representatives, Mem hois of the Auckland Rotary Club welcomed the Australian delegates, and arranged for their entertainment throughout the day until the ship's departure. Appreciation of this courtesy was expressed by the visitors and their wives.
