REFRESHER COURSES PROVISION FOR TEACHERS CLASSES DURING VACATION [by telegraph—own correspondent] "WELLINGTON, Friday Approval of the holding of refresher courses in agriculture for teachers during the next school vacation commencing on August 22 has been given by the Minister of Education, Hon. P. Fraser. The courses will be held at Massey and Lincoln agricultural colleges l'or teachers from the North and South Islands respectively. They will be conducted by the staffs of the two colleges with the co-operation of officers of other institutions interested in agricultural and horticultural problems. "It is anticipated that over 40 teachers will attend tho session at Massey College and over 20 at Lincoln College," said Mr. Fraser. "They will be drawn from the ranks of education board agricultural instructors and from teachers of agriculture in post primary schools throughout the country. Each college has drawn up a syllabus of work, covering about a .week and dealing with a wide range of topics which are of importance to tho farming community and to tho young farmers who aro the particular care of the teachers who -will be "attending tho courses.

"No such refresher courses have previously been held in the Dominion, but never hpforo have such facilities been available for the rapid survey of current agricultural problems by a group of men who 1 have been actively engaged for some years on research work connected with those problems. -
