NEW DECREE

PROHIBITED ZONES GERMAN FRONTIERS COASTAL AND INLAND CZECHOSLOVAK BORDER GREAT FORBIDDEN BELT By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received August 3, 7.50 p.m.) LONDON, August 3 The German Government's decree, issued three days ago, making the Rhineland a prohibited zone inaccessible to any foreign soldier, has been extended to include the whole of the Baltic and North Sea coasts, both sides of the Polish Corridor, the Lithuanian frontier and the whole of the Silesian frontier ad joining Czechoslovakia. The effect of these additions, says the Daily Telegraph's Berlin correspondent, is to form a forbidden belt along nearly half of Germany's frontiers.

The previous decreo covered Baden, parts of Hesse, Bavaria, Wurtemburg and Hohenzollern. Experts consider that the system will enable cross-lire to be directed on any invaders. It js estimated that over 300,000 men are engaged on the construction of fortifications in this area.
