TUAKAU BOARD'S REQUEST [from our own correspondent] TUAKAU, Tuesday A request for a £<"3 for £1 subsidy to enable the Tuakau Town Board to carry out a programme of road improvements throughout its district has been declined by the Minister of Public Works, the Hon. it. Scmple. A letter was received from the Minister at the monthly meeting of the board last night, stating that, as a general rule, the Public Works Department did not assist with tho cost of works.
